ACTUAL cars from movies. Whether it's the batmobile, the james bond lotus or aston martin... that's really cool! And to top it of, they often come regularly prices just as other Hot Wheels while I've seen made up Star Wars and made up Jurassic Park cars that were not even in the movies go for 2x to 3x the regular price. This sort of stuff pisses me of as a parent and I've written about it at Random Hot Wheels, check it out and drop your thoughts.
p.s.
How much did you pay for the ECTO1? was it the regular price of a normal HW?
I agree, they are awesome! And yeah they are character cars, they are more expensive to design and produce especially since they aren't made in bulk like regular Hot Wheels but it is what it is.
And this is the premium version (aka "for the adult collector") so it's $4.5-$5.5 depending where you go. But for the extra cash you get a metal body and base, rubber tires with detailed rims, and details elsewhere throughout the car. But they have done a regular $1 Hot Wheels of the Ecto-1 before, I haven't seen that one for a really long time though.
Now these are the kind of Hot Wheels cars I love!
